Red Sox Roster Moves: Boston Recalls Che-Hsuan Lin As Mauro Gomez Is Optioned To Pawtucket

The seemingly never ending outfield shuffle for the Boston Red Sox continued Sunday, as before their Sunday contest against host Philadelphia Phillies, outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket for the second time this season. Lin will wear No. 67 and will be able to play in Sunday's contest, while first basemen Mauro Gomez was optioned back to the Red Sox, Triple-A affiliate.

Earlier in the season, April 14, Lin was recalled to the big-league club. The same day, he made his MLB debut against the Tampa Bay Rays as a defensive replacement.

In 36 games with the PawSox this season, including 34 contests in center field and three in right field, he is 32-for-125 (.256) with seven doubles, two home runs, 16 RBI, 13 runs, 20 walks and five stolen bases, including a .309 clip (17-for-55) with 13 walks in 17 May games.

Meanwhile, Gomez played in just two games with Boston and went 0-for-2 at the plate.
