Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is reportedly unhurt after being in a minor car accident on Friday while he was driving to Fenway Park (via ESPN Boston).
Ortiz was involved in a multi-car accident on Boylston Street driving to the stadium to prepare for tonight's game against the Cleveland Indians. Ortiz said he was fine to WBZ-TV in Boston
Ortiz told WBZ-TV in Boston: "I lost a little control coming out of the gas station and I hit a car, but I'm fine. Everybody is fine."
He said "we're going to try to be fine" for Friday night's game.
Ortiz is currently hitting .352 this season with 7 home runs and 23 RBI in 32 games. Ortiz was 1-5 against the Indians in Thursday's 8-3 series opening loss.
Tonight's game will start at 7:10 p.m.
