Red Sox Rehire Dr. Charles Steinberg

Dr. Charles Steinberg has returned to the Boston Red Sox after a brief hiatus. Steinberg, who was the team's Executive Vice President of Public Affairs from 2002 through 2007, was rehired by the team as a Senior Advisor to team President/CEO Larry Lucchino, which was met with excitement from both sides.

"It is an honor to return for the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park," Steinberg said in a team press release. "And to again help foster, nurture, and enhance the connection between the passionate fans of Red Sox Nation and their beloved ballclub and ballpark."

"The 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park marks an extraordinary time in the history of the Red Sox, and our ownership group was eager to have ‘Dr. Charles' return to be an active and creative participant," Lucchino said. "We are grateful that Commissioner Selig has agreed to let him return at this historic time for our franchise."

Steinberg was the Senior Advisor to the Commissioner Of Basbeball/Public Affairs since 2010 and began his career in the front office with the Baltimore Orioles.
