BOSTON - Greetings from Truck Day 2012 outside Fenway Park! I have arrived on scene, where the festivities have already started. And by festivities, I mean movers loading the truck with supplies for Boston Red Sox spring training, which begins in roughly one week.
For those unfamiliar, Truck Day is the annual celebration of the unofficial start of the new baseball season. Movers load up a truck with bats, baseballs and all sorts of supplies before it begins its 1,480 mile drive from Fenway to JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida, the new spring training home of the Red Sox.
Fans have already started showing up as of 10:00 a.m. with more trickling in. I've already talked to some fans, who are excited about the new season. More interviews on their way.
It's lightly snowing here, as was predicted. Yet talking with fans, they said there was no way that the weather would stop them from coming out.
More updates to come throughout the morning and afternoon. Go Sox!
