John Lackey Erupts Over Text Message From Media, Possibly About Divorce

John Lackey isn't a fan of text messages from the media, or at least, ones that mention "personal stuff." Lackey broke into a tangent in his Sunday press conference following his start against the New York Yankees in which he allowed three earned runs in six innings in Boston's 7-4 win.

"Let me tell you the truth. Thirty minutes before the game, I got a text message on my cellphone from one of you ... somebody in the media, talking about personal stuff," Lackey said after pitching six-plus innings in the Sox' 7-4, 14-inning victory that kept them a game up in the wild card race. "And I shouldn't even be standing up here having to deal with it. I'm sitting here listening to music. I don't know who got my phone number, but that's over the line." (via WEEI)

While Lackey didn't disclose what the text message said, TMZ released a report following the game that Lackey had filed for divorce on August 30th from his wife Krista, who has been battling breast cancer.
