Red Sox Set To Battle Blue Jays In Afternoon Affair

The Red Sox and Blue Jays wrap up their series today at Fenway Park. The Sox are looking to sweep the Jays and put some more distance between themselves and Tampa before a crucial series with the Rays begins tomorrow that could well decide the fate of the Wild Card. John Lackey is on the mound today for the Sox.

The Red Sox are back at Fenway this week and are wrapping up a quick two game series with the Toronto Blue Jays today. Today's game is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. and can be seen on NESN and heard on the WEEI radio network.

The Sox broke out of their offensive struggles last night with an 18-run performance that also helped propel Tim Wakefield to his 200th career win.  The win also helped put some more distance between themselves and the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Sox now lead the race for the Wild Card by four full games.  The Rays and Sox will meet again for a four game set beginning tomorrow at Fenway that could decide the Wild Card race.
