Manny Ramirez Arrested: Manny In Custody, Bond Has Not Been Set

Manny Ramirez was arrested at his home in Weston, Florida on Monday night following a domestic dispute involving his wife and has been booked and is being held at the Broward County Jail. Bond has not yet been set.

Ramirez's arrest was first reported by TMZ. According to another report from ESPN, Ramirez and his wife, Juliana, were arguing when tension rose and he became violent. The details are not for the faint of heart.

Ramirez, 39, and his wife were arguing in their bedroom when he slapped her face, causing her to hit her head on their bed's headboard, according to a police report. She told the deputy she was afraid the situation would escalate and called police.

Ramirez denied hitting his wife, according to the report, telling a deputy "he grabbed his wife by the shoulders and when he shrugged her, she hit her head."

Ramirez's wife, Juliana, had red swelling on her face and a small bruise on the back of her head, the police report said. She did not want medical treatment. (via ESPN)

In eight season with the Boston Red Sox, Ramirez batted .312 with 274 home runs and 868 RBI. In 19 seasons, Ramirez totaled 555 home runs and 1,831 RBI while batting .312.
