Theo Epstein Interested In Cubs Job?

Theo Epstein is rumored to be interested in the GM job of the Chicago Cubs, according to longtime MLB reporter Peter Gammons, who said that Epstein could listen to offers if the interest is mutual. Jim Hendry, the former Cubs GM, was recently fired, and speculation is building that Epstein could be a potential replacement.

Said Gammons: "I think he'd have interest. I don't know right now if, with a year to go [on his contract], whether he would. ... We're talking about one of the best jobs in baseball." (via WEEI)

Epstein has been the GM of the Boston Red Sox since the end of the 2002 season, and he is credited with forming the two World Series teams in 2004 and again in 2007. However, Epstein stepped aside in 2005 but returned to the team as the GM in 2006.
