Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Dustin Pedroia and Adrian Gonzalez teamed up to drive in three runs in the third inning, and the Boston Red Sox now lead the Baltimore Orioles, 5-2, in the fourth inning at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Derek Lee's had a two-run triple in the first inning, accounting for all three Orioles runs.
Saltalamacchia led off the third with a solo home run and Pedroia singled home Marco Scutaro later in the inning. Gonzalez singled to left, bringing Jacoby Ellsbury around to score and giving Boston a 3-2 lead.
Carl Crawford scored and Marco Scutaro was safe at first on Lee's fielding error in the fourth inning, putting the Red Sox up 4-2, and Ellsbury put the Sox up by three runs with a sacrifice fly to left, plating Saltalamacchia.
Tim Wakefield has allowed two earned runs on four hits in three innings for the Red Sox while Brad Bergesen has giving up three earned on seven hits in four innings for the Orioles.
