Adrian Gonzalez provided all of the offense for the American League on one swing of the bat. Unfortunately, it was just a solo home run in the fourth inning, and it wouldn't be enough to fend off the National League, which prevailed 5-1 in the 82nd annual MLB All-Star Game at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday night. Gonzalez was 1-for-2 in the game with the solo home run, and was the only other Red Sox player aside from Kevin Youkilis (1-for-1) to get a hit in the game. David Ortiz and Jacoby Ellsbury were both 0-for-2 in the game. Josh Beckett was scratched from his appearance after problems arose during warm-ups.
