David Ortiz Will Look To Repeat As He Leads AL Home Run Derby Team

The Milwaukee Brewers' Prince Fielder and the Boston Red Sox' David Ortiz will captain their respective league's Home Run Derby squads when they take to the field in Phoenix just one week from Monday night, according to a report from WEEI.com

Fielder and Ortiz will pick their teams, although Ortiz's group may well have already picked itself. With Toronto's Jose Bautista, New York's Curtis Granderson and Ortiz's Red Sox teammate Adrian Gonzalez absolutely slapping the seams off the baseball all season, they seem the logical choices.

Fielder will have a bit tougher decision to make, especially with Derby mainstay Albert Pujols sidelined with a wrist injury. Matt Kemp leads the NL with 22 home runs, and Fielder's second with 21. Pujol's Cardinals teammate Lance Berkman, Cincinnatis' Jay Bruce and the Philadelphia Phillies' Ryan Howard are also likely candidates.

Ortiz won last year's tournament, hitting 32 home runs - including 11 in the final round - to best Hanley Ramirez
