According to a tweet from the Pittsburgh Tribune, Josh Beckett will be scratched from his scheduled start Saturday after still showing signs of the flu.
Beckett, who missed his scheduled start Tuesday against San Diego with a stomach illness, will miss his second start of the year, a season which has been shaping up to be a career year for the Texan.
Alfredo Aceves pitched for Beckett on Tuesday, and former Pittsburgh Pirate Tim Wakefield will pitch for Beckett on Saturday. Andrew Miller is scheduled to make the start Sunday.
The Red Sox have off-days today and Monday, so they'll be able to re-align their rotation to get Beckett in when the team travels to face the MLB-best Philadelphia Phillies, if he's feeling well enough.
