Red Sox' David Ortiz Sides With Yankees Catcher Jorge Posada In Controversy

Jorge Posada is in his 17th season with the New York Yankees and has given the franchise nearly two decades worth of quality service, and yet the longtime Yankees catcher refuses to bat ninth in the lineup.

Posada removed himself from the Yankees' lineup on Saturday night for their game against the Boston Red Sox, where he was slated to be the designated hitter and bat ninth in the order, and threw a fit over the incident.

Despite playing for the hated Red Sox, designated hitter David Ortiz sides with Posada, saying that the Yankees' management is doing him a disservice.

"You want to know what I think? They're doing that guy wrong. They're doing him wrong," said Ortiz. "You know why? That guy, he is legendary right there in that organization. And dude, DH-ing sucks. DH-ing is not easy." (via WEEI)

Boston and New York conclude their three-game weekend series on Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. EDT.
