Boston Red Sox Beat Yankees Behind Josh Beckett's Dominant Performance
It took until April 10 -- nine days after they opened the 2011 season -- but the Boston Red Sox got their second win of the campaign. The offense scraped together four runs, highlighted by Marco Scutaro's two-RBI double in the seventh and David Ortiz's run-scoring double in the eighth, to beat the Yankees Sunday night, 4-0.

Red Sox Players React To Theo Epstein's Powerful Pregame Speech
In case you didn't notice, the Red Sox looked like a completely different team on Friday afternoon when they defeated the New York Yankees, 9-6, for their first win of the season. Boston looked like a rejuvenated ball club, and that may have had something to do with the pregame speech that Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein gave to his team before their game on Friday.

Fortunately, Buckley's not making any Opening Day decisions for the Red Sox, because that'd be kind of ridiculous. As such, the team is proceeding with their festivities as planned. There will indeed be a flyover (roughly 30 minutes before the start of the game), and Red Sox fan Jim Calhoun, head coach of the Connecticut Huskies men's basketball team, the 2011 national champions, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

You would be forgiven for thinking it was 2007: Josh Beckett struck out 10 batters while holding the Yankees to just two hits in eight innings. And while the Red Sox were stranding runners left and right, a clutch hit from Marco Scutaro saved the game.
