Three Boston Red Sox were named to the Sporting News' AL All-Star Team, voted on by 55 major league executives.
First baseman Adrian Gonzalez, outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury and designated hitter David Ortiz were all selected after helping the Red Sox win 90 games.
Gonzalez starred during his first year in Boston, batting a career-high .338 with 27 home runs and 117 RBI. Ellsbury emerged as a power hitter, blasting 32 home runs and 105 RBI while hitting .321. Ortiz hit .309, notching 29 home runs and 96 RBI.
Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander was the only unanimous selection in the AL. The rosters for both leagues follow:
