The Boston Baseball Writers Dinner was Thursday night (hence the flood of Red Sox news), which game reporters time to catch up with everyone's favorite knuckleballer, Tim Wakefield.
↵↵Wakefield, who turns 45 in August, is just seven wins shy of 200 and 13 short of tying Cy Young and Roger Clemens for the Red Sox' mark of 192, knows he won't be in the starting rotation in 2011, but he's okay with that.
↵↵"Any of the numbers that we've talked about are very important," he said, "but the most important thing is trying to win a championship here in Boston. Even though it gets talked about quite a bit, you've got to set those aside and try to do what's best for the team and attain another World Series here."
