Scott Boras Discussed Statuses Of Magglio Ordonez, Carlos Beltran

Scott Boras, the agent who represents half of baseball (roughly), took time on Wednesday to update the gathered reporters on the status of a couple of his clients, Magglio Ordonez and Carlos Beltran.

On Magglio Ordonez:

Boras said that Ordonez is "100 percent," and that he held a workout for interested teams to show them that he is in good shape. The agent suggested that with Jayson Werth off the market, the interest in Ordonez has spiked as he represents a potential middle-of-the-order outfielder.

Carlos Beltran:

"Carlos is doing well. Obviously, having gone through surgery last year early in the season helped him in his return to play. He's doing fine. He's working out with a conditioning coach daily. His plan right now is to be a New York Met. He has a no-trade clause. If anything were brought to him, it would depend on what the situation were. But I'd say that right now, his expectation is to be a Met next year."

The Red Sox are rumored to be discussing a trade with the Mets to bring Beltran to Fenway Park.
