Adrian Gonzalez To Red Sox Will Be 'Huge Acquisition' Says Kevin Youkilis

Adrian Gonzalez is reportedly on his way to Boston, and already his future Red Sox teammates are reacting to the addition of the new first baseman. Kevin Youkilis, one of the player's directly affected by the acquisition as it means he'll be shifting from first base back to third base, says what most everyone is thinking: "It's great."

"The way he hits at PETCO [Park], he can hit at Fenway Park because he can use the [left field] wall to his advantage. It's going to be great to have him on the team. That'll be a huge acquisition for us if everything works out."

But Youkilis is well aware that by bringing in Adrian Gonzalez, it means saying goodbye to Adrian Beltre: "It stinks, too, because we're losing Adrian. For the team, having either one of those guys would be a good thing."

Hard-throwing reliever Daniel Bard has also chimed in on Saturday, reacting to the Red Sox trading away Casey Kelly, Anthony Rizzo and Reymond Fuentes: "Wow, that's a big deal. None of those guys are big leaguers, but they're all great players."
