Cliff Lee To Phillies Makes Philadelphia 2011 World Series Favorites

The news of Cliff Lee's five-year deal with Philadelphia has sent shock waves through the baseball world, causing people to act deliriously and say things like Joe Blanton is getting traded to the Boston Red Sox. It's also had an effect on Vegas, along with the odds for the 2011 World Series.

The acquisition of Lee now gives the Phillies a starting rotation that also includes Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels. And it also makes them the 2011 World Series favorites, according to Bodog. The Red Sox, with their own offseason prizes of Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford, are the odds-on-favorite to win the American League.

Additionally, Bodog has set the O/U on number of wins in 2011 for the Phillies at 96. The Phillies have won more than 96 games just four times in their franchise's 128-year history, including 2010, when they went 97-65.
