Boston College Women's Basketball Coach Sylvia Crawley Resigns

Boston College Women's basketball coach Sylvia Crawley resigned her position on Thursday (via Boston College). Crawley cited health concerns.

"I am putting my coaching career on hold to deal with a non-life-threatening, treatable condition," Crawley said. "I am grateful to Boston College for the opportunity to coach here. I wish the very best for the current and future student-athletes in the program."

Boston College athletic director Gene DeFilippo said about Crawley

"Sylvia is one of the best people I've had the opportunity to work with," Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo said. "I would like to thank her for her hard work and contributions to Boston College basketball."

Crawley was 67-63 (20-38, ACC) in her four years as head coach of the Eagles. Boston College was 7-23 this past season. Assistant coach Tim Eatman will step into the role of interim head coach, effective immediately.
