CHESTNUT HILL - Ryan Anderson had a dominant first half, finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds, but the Boston College Eagles trail the Rhode Island Rams, 31-28, after twenty minutes of play at Conte Forum.
Andersons made 5-of-8 shots for Boston College, which made 11-of-21 field goals to shoot 52.4 percent for the half. Lonnie Jackson scored eight points and had three rebounds, Dennis Clifford scored six points and Jordan Daniels added three points for the Eagles.
Mike Powell led the Rams with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Jonathan Holton scored seven points and grabbed five boards and Billy Baron scored six off the bench. Andre Malone and T.J. Buchanan each scored three and Dominique McKoy scored two points for Rhode Island, which was 9-for-31 from the floor (29 percent shooting).
Boston College turned the ball over 10 times while URI had just two turnovers in the half.
