Boston College 59, Clemson 57: Dennis Clifford, Eagles Edge Tigers

Ryan Anderson and the Boston College Eagles (5-10, 0-1 ACC) return home to take on the Clemson Tigers (9-6, 1-0 ACC) in their ACC home opener at 7:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday night in Chestnut Hill, MA (TV/Radio: ESPN2/WEEI).

Boston College and Clemson have met 14 times, with the Tigers holding a 10-4 advantage. The Tigers were victorious in both meetings last season, one of which came in the ACC Tournament. However, BC is 4-1 against Clemson at home. Still, the Tigers hold a 7-3 advantage in games against the Eagles since they joined the ACC back in the 2005-06 season.

The Eagles (5-10, 0-1 ACC) are coming off an 83-60 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC opener last Saturday. Matt Humphrey had 14 points and three assists to lead Boston College, which was held to 42.1 percent shooting. Anderson had 13 points and six rebounds and Patrick Heckmann added eight points in the loss for the Eagles.

Clemson (9-6, 1-0 ACC) defeated the ACC rival Florida St. Seminoles in their conference opener on Saturday. Andre Young paced the Tigers with 18 points and Milton Jennings totaled 15 points and eight rebounds. Tanner Smith finished with 13 points and Rod Hall scored 11 points off the bench for the Tigers, which shot 49.0 percent.

Boston College returns to action against ACC foe North Carolina St. on Saturday afternoon.
