Boston College's Luke Kuechly Named ACC Linebacker Of The Week

Boston College Eagles defender Luke Kuechly has received his first accolade of the 2011 season (and there's plenty more to come, for sure), as the junior linebacker was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Linebacker of the Week. Kuechly had 18 tackles (9 solo) and an interception (returned 23 yards) in the Eagles' 24-17 loss to Northwestern.

Kuechly is a 6-foot-3, 237-pound linebacker from Cincinnati, Ohio. He led all players on Saturday with a game-high 18 tackles. Saturday marked the 23rd game in succession in which Kuechly has recorded 10 or more tackles. He also recorded one interception, picking off Northwestern quarterback Kain Colter with just over nine minutes remaining in the second quarter and returned it 23 yards to the Northwestern two yard line. BC scored its first touchdown of the season two plays later. (via BC Media Relations)
