Boston College Vs. Northwestern: TV Schedule, Time, Location And More

Chase Rettig and the Boston College Eagles open the 2011 season with a match-up against Big Ten opponent Northwestern at noon on Saturday at Alumni Stadium.

Event: Boston College Eagles vs. Northwestern Wildcats - NCAA Football, Week 1.

Date/Time: Saturday, September 3, 2011 - 12:00 p.m. EDT.

Location: Alumni Stadium (Capacity: 44,500), Chestnut Hill, MA.

Broadcast Info: Saturday's season opener between Boston College and Northwestern will be aired nationally on ESPNU, with Rob Stone doing play-by-play and Danny Kannel providing analysis. The game can also be heard on the WEEI Sports Radio Network (850 AM), with Jon Meterparel doing play-by-play, Pete Cronan providing analysis and Brian St. Pierre providing sideline coverage.

Storyline: Dan Persa is the center of attention heading into Saturday's game. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, he won't be playing in game at Alumni Stadium, as he continues to recover from an Achilles injury suffered last season. Sophomore QB Kain Colter is expected to start in Persa's place, providing BC fans with a sigh of relief.

For Boston College, senior running back Montel Harris will miss the game (and up to three weeks) as he continues his recovery from a knee injury suffered late last season. Sophomore back Andre Williams - who was bothered by an ankle injury in training camp - will start in his place. As for sophomore QB Chase Rettig, he looks to continue building on the success he found in the latter half of the 2010 season.

Prediction: With Persa out, expect BC to win relatively easily. Final: BC 31, NU 24.
