Boston College Vs. UMass: Eagles Lead Minutemen, 24-7, At Halftime

CHESTNUT HILL - Chase Rettig threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns as the Boston College Eagles carrited a 24-7 lead over the UMass Minutemen into halftime on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.

BC scored the game's first 10 points, as Rettig found Lars Anderson in the back of the endzone for a one-yard touchdown pass with 9:10 to go in the first quarter and Nate Freese made a 26-yard field goal with 2:25 left in the quarter. Then, with 9:31 left in the second quarter, Tahj Kimble rushed into the endzone for a three-yard score to put the Eagles up 17-0.

UMass scored its only touchdown on a 100-yard kickoff return from Jesse Julmiste, the first touchdown return of his career, with 9:18 to go in the first half, cutting the Minutemen lead to 17-7.

Rettig connected with Colin Larmond Jr. for a 36-yard touchdown down the left sideline, putting BC up 24-7.
