Boston College Vs. Duke: Greetings From Alumni Stadium

CHESTNUT HILL - Time's up for Frank Spaziani and the Boston College Eagles. After losing their first two games of the season, there is no more time for shortcomings. BC needs a win, and they need one now.

Luckily, their opponent on Saturday is a very beatable Duke Blue Devils team that has also lost its first two games of the season against Richmond and then Stanford. So if the Eagles are going to win, now would be the time.

In fact, the next three weeks feature opponents that should be beatable for Boston College. After this, the Eagles host in-state rival UMass (for the record, that one will have way more UMass fans than it will BC fans) and then resume ACC play against Wake Forest. While these games should be winnable, they aren't givens.

Why? Well, because the Eagles' first two games should have been wins for BC, but the Eagles just couldn't get their act together. A lot of BC's shortcomings thus far fall on themselves, not their opponents.

So here we are in Week 3, with a beatable team on deck Saturday and two more the following weeks. This is the time for BC football to turn the tables. If the don't win on Saturday, you can kiss the season goodbye.
