Nate Freese connected on a season-best 47-yard field goal with 7:52 left in the first quarter and UCF's Nick Cattoi split the uprights on a 26-yard field goal with 17 seconds left in the quarter as the Boston College Eagles and Central Florida Knights are tied, 3-3, at the end of the first quarter at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Freese's field goal capped off a 10-play, 40 yard drive that lasted just over five minutes while Cattoi's strike concluded a 15-play, 49-yard drive that lasted a lengthy 7:30.
Chase Rettig completed 2-of-4 passes for 20 yards through one quarter for BC. Bobby Swigert had two catches for 20yards to lead the Eagles' receivers and sophomore running back Andre Williams had four carries for 31 yards.
Jeffrey Godfrey threw for 26 yards on 5-of-6 passing to lead Central Florida.
