Izzi Metz Hired As Director Of Basketball Operations For BC Basketball

Izzi Metz, who served as the head coach at Hobart from 2006 through 2011, has been hired as the new Director of Basketball Operations for the Boston College men's basketball team by head coach Steve Donahue, the school announced on Wednesday.

Metz was an assistant under Donahue at Cornell for five seasons before accepting a position as the head coach at Hobart, where he compiled a record of 69-62 at the helm of the Statesmen. Last season, Metz guided Hobart to the Liberty League regular-season title and won the ECAC Upstate tournament championship.

In addition, Metz attended Hobart and played basketball for the Statesmen prior to his graduation in 1998. After that, he became a coach at Bishop Montgomery High School near Los Angeles. In 2000-2001, Metz served as an assistant coach for Hobart before ultimately joining Donahue at Cornell.
