The 2011 NIT Championship continued Monday night with the three final second round games before the tournament's quarterfinals. Miami downed Missouri St., 81-72, and Alabama handled New Mexico, 74-67, to advance in the left side of the bracket, while Washington St. got past Oklahoma St., 74-64.
With the second round concluded, the quarterfinals matchups are now set: No. 1 seed Colorado will host Kent St. Tuesday night, Charleston will visit Wichita State, No. 1 Alabama will host Miami in a matchup perhaps better suited for the football field and Northwestern will play at Washington State. The latter three games are scheduled for Wednesday night.
The winners of Alabama-Miami and Colorado-Kent St. will meet in the semifinals, at Madison Square Garden, on March 29.
