North Carolina led just once in the entire game against Miami in the 2011 ACC Tournament quarterfinals, but it was at the only time that matters: the end of the game.
The Hurricanes led the entire afternoon, peaking with a 53-34 advantage with under 10 minutes remaining in the second half. But then the Tar Heels began their comeback, chipping away at the Miami lead, highlighted by a 12-0 run. Miami took a two-point lead into the final minute, but a Tyler Zeller hook shot tied it up with 49 seconds left.
Miami's Malcolm Grant made a bad pass, giving the ball back to the Tar Heels with 17 seconds remaining. After a couple of Hurricanes' fouls, Kendall Marshall penetrated, waited for the defense to collapse and then found a wide-open Zeller underneath the basket who laid it in just as the buzzer sounded for the UNC win.
North Carolina advances to the 2011 ACC Tournament semifinals where it will the Clemson/Boston College winner.
