Reggie Jackson scored 13 first-half points and made 3-of-4 three-pointers as Boston College took a 35-27 lead over Virginia Tech into the intermission at Cassell Coliseum.
Corey Raji added nine points and four rebounds for the Eagles, who shot 48.1% from the field in the opening half. Josh Southern had four points off the bench and Joe Trapani, Biko Paris and John Cahill all scored three for BC.
Malcolm Delaney led the Hokies with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting. Jeff Allen and Erick Green both scored six points and Terrell Bell and Victor Davila each added two points for Virginia Tech, which shot 41.4% in the first half.
