Boston College's Carolyn Swords Named To All-ACC First Team

Boston College senior center Carolyn Swords has been named to the All-ACC first-team, according to the school's athletic website. Swords averaged a career-best 17.3 points and is also averaging 8.9 rebounds in 29 games.

Swords led the nation in field goal percentage, shooting a career-high 72% from the floor. This is the third consecutive season that Swords has led the country in field goal percentage, as she shot 67.8% in 2008-09 and 66.4% in 2009-10.

In addition, fellow Eagles senior Stephanie Murphy was named to the All-ACC third team after averaging 15.8 points and 8.2 rebounds this season. Murphy was fifth in scoring and sixth in rebounding in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Boston College (18-11) is the seventh seed in the ACC Tournament, which begins on Thursday, March 3rd. The Eagles will face No. 10 seed N.C. State in the first round of the tournament at 6 p.m. EST on Thursday night.
