CHESTNUT HILL - The tides have certainly turned for Steve Donahue and company. After a strong start, Boston College finds itself riding a three-game losing streak entering Saturday’s match-up with ACC foe Virginia Tech at Conte Forum.
Virginia Tech enters the game at 15-6 (5-3 ACC) while BC comes in at 14-8 (4-4 ACC). The Eagles have lost to Florida State, Duke and North Carolina on their current losing streak.
It’s imperative for BC to end this skid, and soon, if they want to have a shot at receiving a bid to the NCAA Tournament come March. Unfortunately, beating Virginia Tech won’t be easy.
PREDICTION: Virginia Tech and Boston College have both been headed in different directions as of late, and I see no reason why they would reverse course now. Malcolm Delaney will bring his best game into Conte Forum, and the Eagles won’t be able to overcome it. Final: Virginia Tech 84, Boston College 73.
