Boston College head football coach Frank Spaziani officially announced the program's 2011 recruiting class, with the Eagles bringing in 23 players on National Signing Day.
The class includes 13 defensive players, nine on the offensive side of the ball and a kicker/punter out of South Carolina, Alex Howell.
Set school record with 51-yard field goal in 2010...No. 4 punter in the country as ranked by Scouts, Inc...qualified for the Kohl's kicking challenge, a top kicking challenge in the Southeast...invited to the NUC All-American Gridiron Game in 2010.
The defensive-heavy class includes just one quarterback, Christian Suntrup, (6-3, 205, St. Louis, MO), who kept his word in signing with B.C., despite the fact that Miami was making a late push to try and lure the QB away from the Eagles. In high school, Suntrup was a four-year varsity starter and was No. 5 prospect in the state of Missouri, and the No. 19 QB prospect in the country, as ranked by Rivals.
