It may only be December, but Super Bowl fever takes over Gillette Stadium on Saturday, as the home of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution prepares to host several high school football title games on the unofficial holiday known as Super Bowl Saturday.
There will be 18 high school Super Bowl games played throughout the state of Massachusetts on Saturday, with Gillette Stadium set to host six championship games throughout the day. Every Super Bowl game at Gillette Stadium will be broadcast live on 98.5 The Sports Hub. The remaining 12 games will be played at Westfield State University, Fitchburg State University, Worcester State University, Bentley University, Manning Field in Lynn and Taunton High School.
Concord-Carlisle and Oliver Ames open up the day's action at Gillette Stadium at 9:00 a.m. followed by St. John's and Leominster at 11:00 a.m. Longmeadow will then face Springfield at 1:30 p.m., Tewksbury will battle Duxbury at 3:30 p.m., Boston College High will face Needham at 6:00 p.m. and Cardinal Spellman wraps up against Mashpee at 8:00 p.m.
