CHESTNUT HILL - Boston College jumped out to an early lead, but Harvard patiently worked its way back into the game with precision shooting and ended the first half with a 40-33 lead on Thursday night at Conte Forum.
Laurent Rivard paced the Crimson offensive attack, scoring 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting to lead Harvard. Christian Webster scored eight points and Brandyn Curry added seven points and two steals. In the half, the Crimson made 13-of-30 field goals while holding Boston College to 14-of-22 shooting from the floor.
Jordan Daniels had nine points to lead Boston College. Patrick Heckmann had eight points, Dennis Clifford totaled seven points, Matt Humphrey added five points and both Ryan Anderson and Lonnie Jackson totaled two points for the Eagles.
Boston College found its stroke early, jumping out to a 12-3 lead five minutes courtesy of three points from Dennis Clifford and five points from Jordan Daniels. Harvard used a 21-5 run to take a 33-25 lead with 3:51 left in the half, spurred on by a strong shooting performance from Laurent Rivard, and entered the break with a seven-point lead.
