The Boston College Eagles beat the Sacred Heart Pioneers by a final score of a 83-73. It was the fifth win of the season, and the third consecutive, for the Eagles.
An Evan Kelley layup with eight and a half minutes left in the second half gave the Pioneers a brief lead. The Eagles retook the lead with a Lonnie Jackson three-point jumper right before the six minute mark, a lead they would not relinquish through the rest of the game.
Dennis Clifford led the Eagles with 16 points, six rebounds, one assist and three blocked shots. Matt Humphrey and Lonnie Jackson each hit three of six three-point attempts. Humphrey led the Eagles with 18 points.
That was the third straight win for the Eagles, who beat Bryant University on Sunday and Stony Brook the week before that. They host Harvard on Thursday, Dec. 29.
