Boston College Vs. Sacred Heart First Half Score: Eagles Lead 41-35

The Boston College Eagles lead the Sacred Heart Pioneers 41-35 after the first half of play at the Silvio O. Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, MA.

The Pioneers led 2-0 for the first couple of minutes as the Eagles couldn't get their shots to fall. A Dennis Clifford dunk gave Boston College their first lead at 6-4 at the 17:08 mark. The dunk kick-started a 10-2 run. The Eagles went cold again and allowed Sacred Heart to get back into the contest before the halfway mark of the first half.

A couple of three-point makes for Boston College allowed the Eagles to get some breathing room at the beginning of the second part of the first half. The Eagles held a 24-16 lead at the 8:37 mark. The Pioneers didn't go away but the Eagles made enough shots to keep their cushion down the stretch. A Matt Humphrey layup with 4:22 left to play extended the lead to 33-24. Shane Gibson kept the Pioneers in the game in the first half with clutch shooting from three-point range.

Dennis Clifford did most of his damage in the paint early but finished the first half with 7 points (3-3 shooting), 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Matt Humphrey made 2 out of 4 three-point attempts for Boston College and led the Eagles in first half scoring with 13 points. Shane Gibson paced the Pioneers with 17 first half points (3-4 from behind the arc).
