CHESTNUT HILL - Patrick Heckmann (19 points) helped lead a Boston College Eagles attack that scored 22 unanswered points late in the first half and ultimately put away the Stony Brook Seawolves, 66-51, on Sunday at Conte Forum.
"I'm very proud of our guys. I thought we persevered," said Boston College head coach Steve Donahue. "I thought we defended for 40 minutes. I thought we made a tough one most of the game. [I'm] just really proud of our guys going after the ball. I'm really happy obviously that we won the basketball game."
Boston College made 23-of-48 field goals (47.9 percent) while holding Stony Brook to 19-of-64 shooting (29.7 percent), including just 5-of-33 shooting in the first half for 11 points - the fewest ever in a single half at Conte Forum.
Donahue and Heckmann spoke to reporters following the big win for BC (audio below).
