Boston College Vs. Stony Brook: Young Eagles Host Seawolves

Boston College (2-7) has won all three games it has played against Stony Brook (3-4). The last meeting between the Eagles and Seawolves came on February 13, 2006, when BC posted a 59-47 win. Craig Smith lead the Eagles with 19 points and Tyrese Rice was the only other player that reached double-digit scoring for BC, adding 10 points.

The Eagles are coming off of a 64-57 loss to the Providence Friars on Thursday evening. Ryan Anderson led the Eagles with 16 points and had two rebounds and two assists. Patrick Heckmann, the Eagles' leading scorer, finished with 12 points and Dennis Clifford added 10 points and six rebounds. BC shot 33.3 percent (17-for-51) in the loss.

Heckmann averages a team-best 11.3 points and 2.0 assists per game, which is also a team-high. Dennis Clifford (7.7 PPG) leads the team with 5.3 rebounds per contest and Ryan Anderson averages 8.6 points and 5.0 rebounds.

Stony Brook has dropped two of its last three games, but won its last tilt against the Fairleigh DIckinson Knights, 70-46. Danny Carter had 16 points off the bench and Bryan Dougher scored 14 points to lead the Seawolves, who shot 41.4 percent in the win (24-for-58). Dallis Joyner added eight points and eight rebounds for Stony Brook.

Dougher averages a team-high 11.6 points and also averages 1.1 steals. Joyner averages 9.6 points and 5.7 rebounds while Al Rapier averages 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds for the Seawolves.

BC hosts the Bryant Bulldogs in its next game at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Sunday, December 18.
