Boston College Vs. Notre Dame: Eagles Trail 13-7 After Three

After three quarters Boston College is hanging with the Fighting Irish, down 13-6. The Eagles entered the contest as 24.5 point underdogs, so the fact that they're within six points of Notre Dame with a quarter to play. The box score indicates Notre Dame should probably have a larger lead. They've out-gained the Ealges 321 to 179 and have eight more first downs. However; the Irish have committed more penalties and turned the ball over once. Boston College has yet to turn it over. Losing the turnover and penalty battles is always a good way to lose or let teams hang around who shouldn't be. Case in point tonight.

BC quarterback Chase Rettig has completed 14 of 26 passes for 131 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Running back Tahj Kimble has 40 yards on nine carries.

There was no scoring in the third quarter. The game's two touchdowns were scored by Jonas Gray and Josh Bordner, on a 26-yard run and a two-yard run, respectively.

The remainder of the game can been seen on NBC. Notre Dame will begin the fourth quarter with the football.
