UMass Vs. JMU: Minutemen Fall 34-17

The Massachusetts Minutemen ended their time at the Football Championship Subdivision level with a 34-17 loss to the Dukes of James Madison University. The loss drops UMass to 5-6 on the season and 8-7-1 in their all-time series against James Madison. Today's loss was the Mintemen's third straight.

The Dukes out-gained the Minutemen by a total of 427 to 304. James Madison racked up 386 yards on the ground alone, and only threw seven passes, despite scoring 34 points. The Dukes also had an interception that they returned for a touchdown.

UMass quarterback, Kellen Pagel completed 20 of his 36 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He was sacked twice. 

The star of the game played for James Madison. Running back Dae'Quan Scott carried the ball 30 times for 253 yards and two touchdowns. Thanks to their dominant running game James Madison controlled the clock for 37+ minutes. Their time of possession advantage along with winning the turnover battle three to zero helped JMU walk out of McGuirk Stadium with a relatively easy victory.
