Patrick Heckmann, who did not play for the Boston College Eagles in their 86-64 loss to Holy Cross on Friday night, is day-to-day with a left ankle sprain that he suffered during the Eagles' season-opening win over New Hampshire on Monday.
"I think he's day to day," said Boston College head coach Steve Donahue. "I don't think he can get back for Monday but I think he's close."
Heckmann scored a team-high 19 points and had eight rebounds and two steals in BC's 67-64 win over UNH. Heckmann's scoring touch was definitely missed on Friday by the Eagles, who managed to make only 19-of-51 field goals.
"I do think we missed him, but I think we're a team nonetheless," said Eagles freshman center Dennis Clifford (10 points, five rebounds). "I think he's a great player and he could have helped us, but I think we should have pulled it off because we're one unit."
As Donahue note, Heckmann's status is unknown for Monday when BC hosts UMass.
