Reggie Jackson led all scorers with 14 first-half points, but Miami (FL) took a 36-35 advantage over Boston College into halftime in Coral Gables, Florida.
Jackson made 5-of-8 shots and also grabbed five rebounds for BC. Joe Trapani scored six points and Josh Southern added five points in the opening half for the Eagles.
Adrian Thomas scored a team-high 11 points, including a deep three-pointer as time expired in the first half to give the Hurricanes a one-point edge entering the break. Durand Scott, Miami's leading scorer, totaled six first-half points and Garrius Adams added five points. Reggie Johnson had two first-half fouls and only scored four points.
Boston College made 14-of-31 shots (45.2%) and 3-of-14 three pointers (21.4%) while Miami made 14-of-37 field goals to shoot 37.8% and made 4-of-11 threes (36.4%).
