Boston College (10-3) and N.C. State (9-4) are the only two ACC teams scheduled to play on New Year's Day. The Eagles are on the road to take on non-conference opponent South Carolina at 5:30 p.m. EST while the Wolfpack took on San Diego at noon.
↵Tracy Smith scored a game-high 16 points to lead N.C. State past San Diego, 76-54, on Saturday. Lorenzo Brown added 14 points, Richard Howell added 13 points, 13 rebounds and five assists and Jay Lewis scored 12 points for the Wolfpack. N.C. State shot 55.2% from the field despite making 3-of-11 three pointers and 9-of-13 free throws.
