Eagles Vs. Wolfpack: N.C. State Leading 27-10 At Halftime

After being shutout in the first quarter, Boston College finally put three points on the board early in the second quarter.

Eagles kicker Nate Freese split the uprights on a 24-yard field goal with 14:52 left in the second quarter, cutting North Carolina State's lead to 10-3.

However, the Wolfpack answered with a touchdown as quarterback Russell Wilson fired a 24-yard pass to Owen Spencer for a touchdown (Josh Czajkowski PAT Good), giving N.C. State a 17-3 lead with 12:36 left before halftime.

The Eagles had an opportunity to get back into the game when Donnie Flether intercepted Wilson and returned it 20 yards to midfield, but the ball was moved back13 yards on a Boston College penalty after the pick.

Brandan Bishop cancelled out Fletcher's interception, though,  picking off Eagles' quarterback Dave Shinskie three plays later at the Boston College 39-yard-line.

Wilson capitalized on the Eagles' turnover, leading his troops deep into Boston College territory and scoring on a five-yard touchdown pass to Darrell Davis to give N.C. State a commanding 24-3 advantage with 6:53 left before halftime.

After giving up two straight scores, Shinskie was able to put the Eagles back in the game on a 15-yard pass to Ifeanyi Momah up the middle for the touchdown with 2:47 left in the half, cutting the N.C. State lead to 24-10.

Czajkowski tacked on three points right before halftime, hitting a 44-yard field goal to give North Carolina State a 27-10 lead entering the break.
