On the strength of its dominating win over Miami, Florida State has seized control of the Atlantic Division in the ACC football standings following Week 6's weekend of play.
With the win, the Seminoles improved to 3-0 in league play, already a full two games better than Maryland (1-0).
Meanwhile, in the Coastal Division, Virginia Tech has rebounded from its rough start to the 2010 season for a pair of wins, and now sits at the top with a perfect 2-0 mark in conference play (just ahead of Georgia Tech, who is 3-1).
Boston College dropped its third straight game on Saturday, and fell to 0-2 in the ACC -- tied with Clemson at the bottom of the Atlantic Division. The Eagles travel to Florida State this weekend.
