Dwight Howard Traded, Lakers Get Better

Look away, Celtics fans. Dwight Howard has finally been traded (unofficially, but officially - something like that), and he's heading to the hated Los Angeles Lakers. Like we really needed another reason to hate Los Angeles. Making matters worse, the early projections (at least in the public forums like Twitter) peg the Lakers to face the Miami Heat in the 2013 NBA Finals. Pretty gross, isn't it?

The trade will send Howard to the Lakers in part of a four-team deal. In the deal, the Philadelphia 76ers will receive (now ex) Lakers center Andrew Bynum and Magic guard Jason Richardson while sending Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets. Orlando will receive Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and three protected first-round picks.

What does this mean for the Celtics? Well, they've been bumped in the "most improved team" category, that's for sure. Boston has had a nice little offseason of its own, adding Jason Terry and Courtney Lee to go along with the re-signings of Jeff Green (although it still isn't official), Chris Wilcox and a pair of rookie bigs. As for a Lakers-Heat final? It really doesn't get much worse than that.
