NBA Free Agency 2012: Brandon Bass Re-Signs With Boston Celtics, According To Report

The Boston Celtics and free agent Brandon Bass have reached an agreement that will keep the power forward in Boston for the next three seasons, according to a report from Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. The terms of the deal are not yet known.

Bass reportedly had six suitors, but chose to return to Boston, where he averaged 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds in 31.7 minutes per game last season. When Jermaine O'Neal underwent midseason, season-ending injury, Bass stepped into the starting lineup with Kevin Garnett moving to center. The starting lineup change helped as the Celtics surged in the second half, finishing the season with the NBA's best post-All-Star break record.

Bass averaged 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in the playoffs, helping the Celtics advance to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. His best game all year came in the second round of the playoffs when he scored 27 points in Game 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
