The Boston Celtics are "making a heavy push" to keep Ray Allen in Boston, according to a Boston Herald report on Thursday afternoon, and are considering a concession that could be just what Allen is looking for.
Steve Bulpett reports that the Celtics are willing to include a no-trade clause or trade kicker that would give Allen a significant raise if he is traded to another team. That would be huge in their recruitment of Allen, since he has had doubts about his job stability in Boston after coming close to being traded several times over the past few seasons.
The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers remain as the other top contenders for Allen's services. The Heat could offer him his best chance at a title and the Clippers could likely provide a starting job.
But Boston can offer more money, and now the Celtics are moving to allay Allen's fears.
